This is more rural wildlife than urban wildlife, but
one year my husband found a rooster in the middle of
Nicollet in south Mpls. (A refugee from a cockfighting
house, perhaps?)  It took him 20 minutes to catch the
bird with his jacket. He brought him home in the truck
and we kept him in the old coal room for a week until
Mike was able to bring him out to a farm run by his
parents' friends. "Chicken George" has probably passed
on by now but I hope he lived a happier life.
