Council Member Benson writes: Perhaps our intrepid reporters and the Minnesota Family Council who have created this "unisex bathroom" hysteria could go on a fact finding mission to see whether bathroom anarchy is a problem throughout the rest of the State and report back to us before we take this dire step.
[TB] Sadly, I don't believe the organization billing itself as the "Minnesota Family Council" is interested in facts. They're interested in raising money and firing up the troops. They know that sex sells and if they can whip up just a little bit of hysteria by turning this into a sex issue or a gay issue they will see some more checks coming in and replentishing the coffers. August is a slow news month, vacations, the legislature is out of session. The only mistake made here was to make the proposal during August instead of February when they are busy whipping up a frenzy about something else. But maybe you hit on something here, just put up a sign that says "rest room" and leave off any reference to gender.
