Point of interest: Simon Delivers is the creation of Brian Sullivan, the candidate who made Gov. Tim Pawlenty look like a moderate. Mr. Sullivan is the darling of ultra-conservatives. When he was running against Mr. Pawlenty for the republican nomination, he made it pretty clear that he believes government is bad, taxes are bad, liberals are bad, and opposing republicans is bad because only republicans know what is right and good for you!
Simon Delivers may provide a useful service, is probably a good company. I for one, will never give Brian Sullivan and his politics of poison one penny! You trade the huge expense of massive square footage and blocks of coolers and racks for the expense of order pickers and delivery people. Also keep a little store front operation going for convenience. David Piehl writes: We're almost there - Simon Delivers, a local startup, is a great way to have quality groceries delivered to your doorstep; price comparisons show that they are in line with Cub and Rainbow, and that the quality of their meat and produce is comparable. The only barrier (it's big) is that it is on-line ordering at www.simondelivers.com. If Simon Delivers could be persuaded to take phone orders, a huge segment of underserved consumers would benefit, and would have options other than the so-called "Hood Stores".
