"I was flabbergasted that they could bring home good
tasting beer from the local brewpub whereas I could
not.

Scott McGerik"

I appreciated Scott's post, but didn't really agree
with it. Any policy that puts more alcohol in the
hands of people on the street is a bad idea in my
opinion. Even at the expense of my local brew pub.

More alcohol in such a portable form will lead to more
drunk drivers and more cops on the streets trying to
stop them, and more domestic violence. And a whole
host of other social ills associated with alcohol.

While we are on the subject, I am against the
increase to the 2 a.m. bar time in Minneapolis for the
very same reasons. I support my local bar owners(one
bottle of Grain Belt at a time), and I'm sure they
will be able to stay in business without these
policies.
