[TB] Tom is correct, the long term effect includes more people buying cars. We also have a significant number of busses still bringing people downtown as the suburban busses will still bring you in from Maple Grove, Chaska, Apple Valley, etc. This stike affects the core cities and close in 'burbs much more than the outer 'burbs, likely part of the reason that the Pawlenty administration is in no hurry to settle. The people using freeways to get to downtown are more likely to still have their bus, skewing Strom's observations (not that he cares) while those using city streets are more likely to be displaced. I just learned that at least some of the suburban lines are not just rush hour as I saw the Chaska bus leaving downtown at about 9 last night.
