What, IMHO, Bruce is pointing out is that 46th & Hiawatha is not as screwed up from
the LRT as it seems. With an "unofficial" detour routing cars thru that area, plus
the fact that the Ford bridge is still under construction, traffic thru 46th &
Hiawatha is not typical right now. I do wonder how many vehicles are using that
intersection now compared to years past.

I am not trying to say that it does not need fixing, and drastically, just that there
are conditions affecting this intersection not clearly evident to the users of this
intersection.

A little more info on the increased traffic on Minnehaha Parkway over
Hiawatha.

The highway 5 bridge over the river is down to one lane in each direction
for July and August, causing major delays. Many people are taking the
(unofficial) Ford bridge detour. They then take Minnehaha to avoid the
screwed up 46th Street intersection at Hiawatha.
