Actually, construction cannot take place on Sunday at all.

Connie:

If you can tell me exactly where this construction is taking place this
morning, I will follow up and see what the story is. Normally, there should
be no construction early in the morning on any morning.

Surely the most important task for all of us is to leave behind a planet
that is fit for our great grandchildren to live on. So all of our personal
actions, as well as our political policies, must be tempered with an eye to
long term sustainability, not short term profit or expediency. As we
struggle to solve the day to day problems -- crime, jobs, budget shortfalls, homelessness, traffic congestion, and air quality, we will look to solutions
that serve both our immediate needs and lay the foundation for the
post-petroleum economy.

According to the city website, construction noise on
the weekends is illegal without a noise permit.

Anybody know who approves/denies those permits, and if
the city crews need them? (I'm guessing not)

My husband and I were roused this AM (before 8) by a
huge racket on the street right outside of our house.
It was a city crew working the road.

Now I'm not religious or anything but I do consider
Sunday to be the day of REST... and couldn't believe
anyone would authorize construction beginning before
8am in a residential neighborhood on Sunday!
