Where exactly would a field on Boom Island go? Aren't they planting a huge demonstration garden and moving the Pioneer statue over there? Just asking. Also, people can play the historic 'card' in this discussion, and it is a concern, but the nature of the site is really so altered from its original use that I see no problem with closing that street. If preservation was a concern they never should have rammed that big stupid bridge through the middle of the island and cleared all the buildings.
