Shutting down Technet is truely a disservice to IT pros and Trainers
alike. Without the cheap licensing how can you see how a product performs
over time and then be able to apply upgrade processes etc to it and the
previous version. Currently I find i'm needing to juggle 3 versions 2007,
2012 RTM, and 2012 SP1 inorder to validate features and changes between
versions, test upgrades and Migration scenarios that come forward. R2
coming out in the fall / winter, that will be 4th version.

2007 - Its in place, people are considering migrating from, sometimes need
to health check or special reports.
2012 RTM - some can't go to SP1 yet because they have systems which don't
support No execute. In addition some are deployed and need support in
migration to SP1
2012 SP1 - New version, testing updates etc and use it with the other 2 to
test migrations

In addition you have items you want to run through that generate a history
for software updates, installed software, software metering rules etc.

No way you want to end up having to rebuild this every 6 months and to get
the same software, drives you to a MSDN Premium License to get the same
software @ $6,119.00 now that's a heavy blow.
