Sorry about the unplanned reboot.

Something which you may wish to consider in future is always suppressing 
reboots as a default!

While at first glance this seems like a dumber than dumb idea you'll find that 
Santos Martinez has a very good blog post about using Compliance and Settings 
to check systems for outstanding reboots.  Using this you can build collections 
to either work with users / server owners to schedule reboots as required
