Isn't it so that, by making the PA3-engine PD, you run the risk of many
people creating the same genre of games? I.e., the GameBuilder-effect?
Realms of Adventure is already the third game Peter created himself by using
the PA3-engine (although he made some changes to it to create the
sequels)... I think you might run the risk of losing the players' interest.

On the other hand, I think it might be a great impulse for many potential
RPG-developers to give them the chance to finally create their own RPG
without having to have someone design a whole new RPG-engine.

This PA3-case is not the first, however. As someone mentioned before in this
connection, there exists a quite advanced RPG-development program called
Dante 2. Might also be interesting to check that one out, further. The main
problem using Dante 2 is possibly the fact that the main requirement to
develop a good game is to be able to draw acceptable graphics. But I guess
the problem will be the same with the PA3-engine.

Take care, however, if you plan to explore Dante 2, since some copies are
not working properly. For example, the version which was partly translated
by Kieran de Roe, contains some bugs which make it impossible to finish your
creation.

Is there any interest in exploring Dante 2? If so, I might consider
translating the program into English (without creating any bugs - I hope
:)).

Rieks.
