NO! RTF is no standard! PDF or PostScript ARE. So please only use standard
formats.
Indeed, Word-format is definately not standard:
- many incompatible differences between different versions
- even incompatible differences between de same versions for different
platform
- very inefficient file-size. Just type 3 words and save it... It will be at
least a few kB!
- it contains printer information, this means it is not printer independent,
also it contains a lot more useless information (see also previous point)
- AFAIK there is no Word for other platforms than M$ WIndows and Macintosh,
so forget about reading it using a real OS
- need I say more? This is about the worst kind of files you can get....
By the way, RIcardo, you seem to lag a little... Especially your 'MEP on
FUNet' remark is outdated... There is already being worked on such a
solution.
