Correct me if I'm wrong but I was rather sure that RTF is a standard,
but that our beloved M$ firm has made it's proper (probably they prefer
the word 'extened') derivate RTF format, being incompatible with the
rest of world an again assuring user-lock-in.
They do it with wathever they can get their hands on.
(HTML,Cerberos,Bitmap format,mpeg(->asf),etc. )
