Hi

I am a new member of this group. We are raising a trilingual 2 years
old daughter (Arabic = me, Polish = dad & English = community language).

Now my husband and I have never spoken to her in any other language
than our native tongues (Arabic & Polish), yet she has managed to
learn more English than any of our languages. I understand that the
community language eventually becomes the dominent language, but it
also scares me. She is also very stubborn and if I correct her (when
she speaks English to me I tell her that in my language this is what
we say) there are several instances where she flat out told me NO and
repeated the English word.

Now from experience is this something I should be worried about? I
know for a fact that she understands both of our native languages and
she does repeat some words in them too. BUT English seems to have
taken to her liking. And how should I handle her as well as my
frustrations? Hers, because I keep telling her that she needs to use
my language for me to be able to understand her. And my frustration,
because she is stubborn.

My husband doesn't seem worried at all about the whole language thing.
He is sure that she will speak both of our native languages
eventually, of course plus English. Am I just paranoid? Or do I need help?
