Not if this message was saved as an Fcc while mutt (or some other client) was sending it out. Of course, in that case, the date in Date: and the date in From will be identical unless the mail client is broken - and maybe that's the answer. I don't think it's what Mutt currently does, though (I have not read the source code). imc
