*) Is there a guioption for showing the tab bar in Muttator? Whenever I
have Muttator enabled, my tabs disappear (at least in my MacOS Muttator,
which might have different chrome).
:set stal=0/1/2 (showtabline)
Ok. I notice that the Compose menu complains about "no such option"
"stal", so I guess that's a bug that needs to be fixed.
(that is, setting "stal=2" in .muttatorrc gives me the desired effect in
the message window, but I get a quick error at the bottom of the compose
window when I try to compose a message)
*) Is there a key to compact the folder? I use IMAP, and so "d" marks
messages as deleted, but eventually I'll want to "compact" them... right
now I have to click on a toolbar button (or right-click on the folder)
to compact. It would be nice to just hit something like "x" (for
eXpunge). Is it worth making a formal feature request for this?
:emenu should work.
I was worried that "File.Compact Folders" would compact ALL of my
folders. I train my server-side spam filter using deleted messages in a
special "spam" folder, and it expunges them when it's done with them,
and so I wouldn't want to compact all of my folders at once (that would
be equivalent to taking my server-side filter out of school).
However, it /appears/ like "File.Compact Folders" does the same thing as
the context menu, so I guess I can just create a mapping for now.
Surely no keybinding for a little-used feature. A :compact command would
be appreciate though. BTW: You also have commit access to push changes
to muttator.
You really think that would be a little-used feature? I know that the
Vimperator community isn't that large, and of that community a very
small subset are using Muttator, but I think that once Muttator gets out
of pre-alpha, its audience could widen.
It's my impression that /most/ IMAP users would prefer this very
traditional way of dealing with IMAP messages. Plus, it's more efficient
to have the server mark a message rather than having it move it (even
though TBird doesn't actually have to do the move with IMAP).
I know mutt users probably hate pine, but the pine community has an
affection for both Thunderbird and vim (despite being producers of
pico), and I think I can point you to lots of people who would
appreciate an expunge hotkey like pine has.
