d: delete the current message
        u: undelete message
Both are in Muttator already.

I know that. I was just listing them for consistency with mutt.

        $: save changes to mailbox

Why would one save changes with an extra key? We support a much more
advanced user interface called "Trash". If an action
can be undone, I see no user interface advantage of an extra
confirmation.

Okay -- so that's Mutt's wording. I wasn't suggesting that Thunderbird should "save changes." However, mutt users have been using "$" to expunge messages ever since mutt added IMAP to its feature set.

I'm not saying that Thunderbird needs a "save changes." I'm saying that Thunderbird already has a "compact" (which is their realization of "expunge" for IMAP), and to match mutt keybindings, the $ key should trigger it.
