Interesting example nschm873 .. really very useful..

Let me rephrase my question then, can anyone think of an example when
a parent task should be SHOWN as completed when child tasks are still
open.

Your excellent rotations example uses options available to you by
clicking the parent task while child tasks remain open, but once the
task changes have been made as a result of this click, if I understand
your example correctly, you are still left in a position where the
parent task is open.

The problem, I think, that MLO has at the moment, is that if the
Outline is left in a state where the parent task is marked as
completed while any of its child tasks remain open, this removes all
of those child tasks from both the Outline (if only completed tasks
are shown) and the ToDo views.
