Ok so after thinking about this for you, I decided to change the way I
do checklists. One of the advantages of trying to help others in the
MLO group is that it makes you rethink how you were doing something. :
+)

Anyway, I now have a task “checklist XXX” with multiple subtasks under
it.

The last subtask in the list is “Complete checklist XXX”.

Then I add the “tick” flag to all of the subtasks except that
“Complete checklist” subtask. MLO is nice in that you can select all
of the subtasks and add the flag once in the flag column.

With that, you can then add an advanced filter in your main view to
not show “ticked” tasks. In that way only the last (complete
checklist XXX) task is shown in your main view. Then you can have a
specific to your checklist tasks view that does show all of the
“ticked” items.

This is much simpler to what I was doing in the past.

And BTW you are correct; using HideInTodo is true or false only
filters out what isn’t stated. It does not add in anything.

Also I know of at least one difference between Action filter - Active
and the Action Filter – All with the advanced filter ActiveAction. It
has to do with start dates in the future. The Action Filter - Active
WILL NOT show active tasks with start dates in the future. The All
with advanced feature ActiveAction WILL show future start date active
tasks.
