I can answer this one.. the answer is yes.  This device has composite
and S video inputs, that are supported with the linux driver.  I have
both the non-tuner and the tuner version, and just installed the
driver last thursday on my laptop, and it had to of been one of the
easiest thrid party drivers to get going ever.  and with the sample
app I was able to record live tv right off the bat.  I can post a
short video clip online of the mpeg4 capture from my hotel room's
cable line.
