First he said $350.00 then he said he would sell it for $250.00. That's what I
paid. I hope it is worth it. It's the kind that puts out charged air with no
filters to change. I don't know a lot about the different kinds. I hope it
works and I didn't get ripped off. I think people are getting more cautious
about the air quality. And if a hair customer comes in that doesn't get their
nails done then they seem to be offended by the odor.

Wow, thats all it costs?  The Sunflower was way more than that!!  Just curious
how much was the air purifier?

I went to Athena's site and purchased it from there. It is $139.00 includes
shipping I think. That's great you have a ventilation system. I also bought the
air purifier from modern solutions. The one that looks like an over-sized
coffee mug. At first I couldn't tell if it was doing any good, I received a
Christmas present about the same time I started using it. My present was
pumpkin spice oil with the rods. Ya know, an air freshener thing. No one could
smell it. Then I was rearranging my room and unplugged the purifier and forgot
to plug it back in. Now everyone comments on the spice smell. So I guess it was
working.

Angie,
I don't both ac and gel.  I agree with you that it doesn't give off as much
light. When I put my hand up to the light it orginally felt like the light is
blowing out air.  Then I put some ac dust from a file and you can see it
sucking up the dust. It isn't as powerful as I thought it was going to be.  I'm
still happy with it.  Its perfect for me to use at home to practice nail art
with ac and gel.  I don't need it and my new studio.  The building has its own
ventalation system that really cuts down on the odors (not dust) from the
hairdressers and nail artists.  I'm happy to hear you found another system!  If
you don't mind me asking how much does the Luraco cost?  That might be
something I will have to look into for dust as I fill my book. I know what you
mean about all the dust!!!  Thank you so much!

Jenny,

Don't worry about it. I don't know if I kept getting defects or I really don't
understand how to use it. Do you do ac or gel or both? That might be the
difference. I think I had this idea that it would solve the odor problems
and all the dust problems. I am use to more light then the Sunflower puts out
also. My eyes aren't as good as they use to be. The same things won't work for
everyone. Does yours blow air out around the light? The first and second one
really blew a lot of air out. The third didn't blow as much, but still some. I
would think it should blow it out the top, not down toward the nails. Anyway,
no big deal. I have ordered the Luraco. Should get it next week. I think thats
going to work out better for me. I use an e-file and my hands get covered in ac
dust. I would put my finger that was covered in dust up by the sunflower and it
didn't suck up any of it. I think I just need a strong vacuum to suck it up.
I beat my hands
together and the dust gets in the air. Thats what I am trying to eliminate.
White dust on everything everywhere. Just can't stand it anymore. All imbedded
in my face and clothes when I come home. I love this list too. I have learned
so much this past year, then I think I have learned the last 19 years I hve
been doing nails.

Hey Angie,
I recommended the Sunflower to you.  I feel so terrible that it didn't work.  I
wouldn't have recommended it to you if I didn't think it does what it says it
does.  I'm really sorry!  I hope you don't think differently of me!  I respect
you. You have done a lot to help me and the people on Nail Tech. I love this
group and look forward to checking my emails because of it.

Hey Angie,
Things are crazy in my house.  I apologize for not getting back to you sooner.
I'm sorry to hear that the Sunflower is not working for you.  It sounds like
you have a defective lamp.  I'm very impressed with the Sunflower.  It is
supposed to suck air in into the light (you can even see the dust from
enhancements going up in the light).  When I first tried the lamp it kept
falling down on me too.  My problem was that the clamp was not fully clamped
onto the table.  Also, the lamp came with a thin rubber like piece that you put
between the clamp and the table.  Initially I didn't use it.  I tried it and it
helped!  I hope this helps.

Well Guys,

I got my Sunflower. I hope I got a defective one. I was so excited about this
but I don't like this one. It blows air out the bottom of the lamp right onto
the nails. That's not going to work. It looked like it had been put together
before and a piece of plastic was broke off. It didn't keep it from working but
still, for the amount of money they cost, I don't want someone elses returns.
The light seemed to heavy and it slowly fell down. That will drive me nuts. I
called them and they said they will send me out another one. I asked if it was
suppose to blow out air where the light is and the lady  didn't know. She said
the man who would know was on the other line. Jenny if you read this... How
does yours work? I also ordered a new menda pump for my monomer. My old one was
leaking after 17 years. The new one is no good. It rubs when you pump it and it
sticks, so when it does decide to pump it squirts out the monomer. My old one
pumped smooth as
butter. I guess its not my week for things to work right. I called Menda and
of course the person who knew about them was not there on Mon. and she was
suppose to call me back on Tue. Here it is Wed and still haven't heard a word.
I will let you guys know how the new one works when it comes in.
