I did the same thing Shannon! I tried a hair dryer first and wow, that was not
fun! LOL! I just bought the minx lamp and it did make a world of difference!
Like you, I didn't want to spend that much money so I had my hubby go out and
try to find a similar one. He came home with a bulb no lamp! Apparently they
are similar to ones you find in pet stores for lizards? Not sure if that helps
or not?

I did a set of Minx toes last night with the new lamp and it did go far easier
but I struggle with filing the excess off the free edge. Even with their glass
file, I find I'm tearing the minx and it shows! If anyone knows any tricks that
would be helpful, I would greatly appreciate it!

Good luck on your search Shannon!

Shannon,

I do not know about Minx but most Halogen Bulbs throw a great deal of heat.
I have one on my desk I use to “Cook” the top coat on Mani’s. Everyone Loves
it because it get’s them out the door with no smudges. If you need more heat
you could get a Halogen with Hi/Lo setting like mine. I think my Hubby got mine
at Office Depot. It’s not pretty but it does a great job. If you get too close
it gets too hot! Check it out.

Subject: NailTech:: minx lamp

Question for the ladies that do minx. I got my order and tried to use blow
dryer (which I would REALLY not recommend) My question is what heat lamp does
everyone use? The Minx lamp is just a little out of my price range especially
since I am going to classes and saving for workshops. Any recommendations or
should I just bite the bullet and buy the Minx lamp?
