Thanks for the advice Elaine! I will certainly give that a try. I thought I had
let the product cool enough but maybe not? It's true that I felt as though I
was having to pull and stretch the product and was making more of a mess then I
needed to! LOL!

I would just bet that letting the product cool down before you file the edge
off will make a world of difference. While it is still warm you are fighting a
losing battle. You're pulling on it and it is stretching. Put it on all five
or even ten (fingers or toes) and then go back and file the first one off. I
bet it will go a little easier.

This is completely a hunch...knowing the material. But let me know if I am
right.

I did the same thing Shannon! I tried a hair dryer first and wow, that was not
fun! LOL! I just bought the minx lamp and it did make a world of difference!
Like you, I didn't want to spend that much money so I had my hubby go out and
try to find a similar one. He came home with a bulb no lamp! Apparently they
are similar to ones you find in pet stores for lizards? Not sure if that helps
or not?

I did a set of Minx toes last night with the new lamp and it did go far easier
but I struggle with filing the excess off the free edge. Even with their glass
file, I find I'm tearing the minx and it shows! If anyone knows any tricks that
would be helpful, I would greatly appreciate it!

Good luck on your search Shannon!

Shannon,

I do not know about Minx but most Halogen Bulbs throw a great deal of heat.
I have one on my desk I use to "Cook" the top coat on Mani's. Everyone Loves
it because it get's them out the door with no smudges. If you need more heat
you could get a Halogen with Hi/Lo setting like mine. I think my Hubby got mine
at Office Depot. It's not pretty but it does a great job. If you get too close
it gets too hot! Check it out.

Question for the ladies that do minx. I got my order and tried to use blow
dryer (which I would REALLY not recommend) My question is what heat lamp does
everyone use? The Minx lamp is just a little out of my price range especially
since I am going to classes and saving for workshops. Any recommendations or
should I just bite the bullet and buy the Minx lamp?
