As said this is my opinion and I said "suggest". I have talked with each
client about their toenail issues. Some have tried the oral and/or topical
prescriptions from the doctor and had no success. Some have tried home
remedies and sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. Not everyone in the
world has access to search the internet for home remedies. And no these older
clients will not ask a relative to do an internet search for them. So I've
made suggestions. Just my opinion.

You need to be careful recommending specific treatments though. You can always
suggest they search for hone remedies online.

 Here's my two cents worth:

Sometimes clients have gone to the doctor and it is not a fungus. As we age
the toenails change color and get harder. Family history plays a part as well
(seen this with having clients related to each other).

But also getting "older" clients to go to the podiatrist can be a nightmare
when you live in a small town and the closest podiatrist is over 60 miles away,
and you know there is no one to take them to the doctor. I have learned to be
very diligent about cleaning after these clients.

Suggest she try the home remedies: vicks or listerine, and see if that makes
any change.

Good Luck! I understand where you're coming from.
