I am sort of a crafter and i know that with the foil that is from craft stores 
you have to apply a sticky type liquid adhesive (its white and changes to 
clear)that comes with the foil kit and let that dry a bit.  Then you apply the 
foil with the color size DOWN on the nail because the foil transfers from the 
paper its on to your nail.  Most foil is paper thin.  Maybe that will help.  I 
will have to try it too since i have foil left over from my crafting days!
