Hi Britt, I have never corresponded directly with you before, but I read all of your postings and enjoy them.  I suspect my neice could have some degree of A.S.D. She is only 8.5 months old, but she seems different to me.  Can you tell me what you saw in Emma that was different at that age?  My neice is very small for her age (below the 5th percentile) and her head is porprtioned to her body, which it shouldn't be.  She is happy and seems to be "normal", but is not thriving and just seems different than my baby of the same age.  Her parents are concerned too.  Any help would be appreicated, Thanks!
Kelli

Subject: [bfing] Something I found....

Hi, everyone!  First off, Happy New Year to all of you!  Each & EVERY one of you are very important to me in many different ways.......and I appreciate that more than you can imagine!
I recieved a gift certificate from a family member for the Maine Made Shop......so, it didn't take me long to go there to spend it.  I saw something I liked right away, and knew that that was what the gift certificate would buy....
A wooden, pink sign that said, "ALWAYS KISS ME GOODNIGHT".  A sign that will go in Emma's room, above her crib.  The sign makes me happy & sad at the same time.......at times, it has been VERY stressful & very difficult for my husband & me to adjust to Emma's Autism diagnosis, and to the behavior that often goes along with it...to sometimes feel resentful, and then to feel very guilty for feeling resentful...we love our daughter very, very much, but are often fearful of what the future holds for her......I want everyone to love her as we do......
BUT, no matter how difficult the day has been, we ALWAYS KISS HER GOODNIGHT, and we start the next day with a fresh outlook, and with regenerated minds & bodies.  It is not her "fault", and it is not our "fault".  I love her for her...for being her. Just because she exists. She doesn't have a fault. I remember how being pregnant with her represented a time of great hope and a fresh start for me. It still does.  And, I have always loved her so much that sometimes I can't stand it......overwhelming to love someone that much.  Enough of my being sappy......
You are all the best!
Hugs from Britt & the Gang
