Hello Everyone,

As many of you know, I've done a lot of work with Oracle.
So typically on Linux, I run Oracle Redhat, the official OS for Oracle.

Recently, I tried installing Redhat on a laptop. But as so often before,
there was a problem. This time the wireless was not working. Sigh.

You can see a few of my many struggles with Redhat installations here:

For hardware on Redhat, I've struggled with: video, networks, sound, BIOS,
triple boots,
even just a simple install on a very popular Dell desktop.

All kinds of software installations onto Redhat have also been a struggle,
including official Oracle software, and even something as simple as gimp:

A number of the installs have taken a number of days, or a week.
What bothers me is that every day that I struggle with an install, is
another day
that I can't be using NEO4J, or other software.

My idea was to consolidate my multiple desktop servers onto two laptops:
one Windows, and one Linux. Although, I'm open to new ideas on the
technology stack.

So, I'd like to poll everyone informally.

What is your tech stack?
Hardware, OS, software, browser?

Any issues? Do you recommend it?

Thanks a lot!
