Check that the crimping on the connection to the Aux A bus buffer amp is good. Make sure that nothing is shorting the Aux A output as well (disconnect, or dead patch any normaled connections).

individual channels, it is probably a bad solder joint on
the pan pot.
This is really common on the Elite and may also happen on
the Elan.
