Ok, that could potentially be IC # U-4 on the master
module.
It's an NE-5532 dual op-amp, 8 pin DIP package.
It's
socketed so you should be able to pry it out with a
little
screw driver and put the new one in. MAKE SURE you put
it in
the right way up (the dot or notch on the end should
face
the top of the module) That would be the master
module, BTW,
the chip should be right under the "Aux A"
master
pot. If you are not sure what you are doing, get help.
Also,
make sure that all eight pins of the IC go into the
socket
and don't bend under it or outside it. AND, be
advised
that it could be other components besides the chip,
like
R-14, R-15 (both 47r, 1/4 watt) or C-103, 47uf/25v
Bi-polar.
best,
Ike

Hi Brian,
Is this on a per channel basis, or right
across the
board? If it is individual channels, it is
probably a bad solder joint on
the pan pot. This is really common on the
Elite
and may also happen on
the Elan.

Ike

I bought a Neotek Elan II about 3 years

and have
run into a problem with my Aux A/B section.
When I
pan the
individual channel Aux A/B to the right I get
a
full sinal
out of "B" but if I pan to the left
, I
get a very
low level signal that sounds a bit distorted
out
of
"A". When I solo the master send
for
"A"
its the same low level distorted signal.
I have very little experience in
electronics
so any
help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
