Jack, My experience has been the same as Greg's; that is, I've never had any problem running my unbalanced Neotek Series II with any outboard gear. I do have a two-channel Neve line amp box I put together (BA183 cards) that I patch in to run my 2-mix output balanced into my HD24 sometimes, but it's more for tonal options and to make up the 6dB drop when running unbalanced into the HD24 rather than necessity.
