Hi
I recapped one a couple of years ago. The 'simple' way is to pull the
bottom off and cut the bus wires so you can get the strips out. Then
'stitch' it back in again after (use bits of wire a bit longer than what
you cut so you can get good solder joints).
As I did the whole desk it was quite easy with it balanced on it's left
end cheek.
For a few moments converting it to a connectorised version were
contemplated, but swiftly rejected on cost grounds as with a bit of
dexterity you can actually fault find and replace some parts 'in situ'.
You might even be able to replace pots or switches if you strip the
faceplate from 'the top'.
