That IS good news! If your noise floor is that low now, I would put the
lids back on and go back to mixing your record. Going to all of that
trouble is not going to by you that much.

P.S. if, say, moving the transformer back a couple of cm (1") would
help, you /could/ buy some longer replacements for the six screws that
hold the back panel on the supply and stand it off by that
distance...but if it's quiet...
