Your point that someone who buys a faulty product should simply buy the next version
to replace it
is ridiculous. Having to buy the next version to get more features is quite
reasonable. Having to
buy a later version because the version you PAID for doesn't work is not. I am amazed
that anyone
can't understand that.
A good example is Pagestream which I have been happy to pay for in each new version
from dear old
2.2 onwards. All bugfixes were free and domplete, and each new version I bought had
vastly more features than
the previous. Similarly with FW, WW, IFx and ArtEffect etc, etc.
All I want is delivery of what I paid for.
I don't want to discuss this with you any more. You are just repeating yourself and
refusing to try
to think clearly.
If you bought an electrical appliance which didn't work would you cheerfully accept
the salesman's
advice, "Oh yes, that model was faulty--you have to buy this new one."

Only if you can believe that the changing of dates to the year 2000 could not have
been foreseen. In
terms of general awareness of y2k issues 1997 is not a long time. Besides, I bought
NC2 in 1999.
I
have software dated 1988 which is y2k compliant!

You are now outside the parameters the game was designed for. Users of NC2 are not.
You should be working for MS, selling bugfixes as new features
