This hasn't prevented M$ using this business model for most of their
existence :P

        Your point that someone who buys a faulty product should simply  buy
the next version to replace it
        is ridiculous. Having to buy the next version to get more features
is quite reasonable. Having to
        buy a later version because the version you PAID for doesn't work is
not.  I am amazed that anyone
        can't understand that.
