Great, if that doesn't scare the last few developers for the Amiga off, than
nothing will. Note that Acive or Vapor have not reacted in any way: they
have not said there will not be a free update, but they have also not said
that there will be a free update!
I am writing this both to Amiga Format and the NetConnect list, although I'm
sure I won't have to convince Amiga Format to make sure they have their
facts right: until there is a definite statement from Active/Vapor that no
such bugfix will appear, it is only rumours, and spreading them could do
more harm to software development than not providing a bug fix.
Note that I am not a "loyal anything goes Active/Vapor fan". As you can see
from the mail header I use YAM for mailing, I use Miami instead of Genesis,
I use IBrowse instead of Voyager, I use golded for html coding rather than
MetalWeb. I do own a legal copy of NC3 (and NC2 as well). But I do feel
that publishing the mail that I'm replying to here would be a very
unjournalistic thing to do, unless you would of course give Vapor a chance
to Reply to such a publication first.
So, I appeal to mr. Vost of AF, and Neil for AmigActive (who should be on
this list lingering somewhere) to let jounalism prevail over feelings.
Cheers
Dirk Harlaar
