I think it will get confused. Pronet overcomes this by the use of a
`unique' switch that appends a `0' on the visitor drives' names.

That is a common urban myth. I have regularly used drives in all
positions. One computer I moved so often it should have had wheels was
sometimes used in the regular attitude and at other times stood on its side.
Never any problem.
