I had similar problems with a twister device from Power using both Miami and
Genesis in NC3. Both stacks were telling me the twister.device could not be
opened as it may be in use. At the suggestion of Holger Kruse, I ran
programs such as Term with the same result.

In the end, I sent it back to Power as faulty. They returned it saying it
was fine.

Anyway, the following week I had some business in Bedford so I took my Power
Tower'd 1200 in with me and asked the boss, Tony, to check it.

To cut a long story short, we swapped out my Magnum 030/50 card ( rebadged
Apollo ) and tried a Blizzard card. Everything worked fine.

As Power were out of stock of 040 cards ( I fancied an upgrade ) I settled
for an 060/50 plus one of their IDE99 interfaces. So, in order to get 25
UKP twister interface working, I ended up spending 330 ukp.

If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I think I would have smelt a rat but
the problem definately lay with the accelerator card.

Does this help ?

Regards
