Erm... I have a PC too. You can expect to see even more "download to
upgrade" software - games especially (Falcon 4, Half-Life, Unreal
Tournament, Battlezone 2, etc.) are now often released in a state that has
to be patched and upgraded in order to work properly on most systems.
Giving up on one download does not bode well for your life in the PC market,
expect many such cases. Oh, and I hope you got a decent (and useful) spec.
of PC for that amount of money (far too much, unless you got piles of
extras - CDRW?).

This may stand up depending on what you were actually sold. If you have
been sold a licence to use the NetConnect suite, then that is what you have
received. Software is sold on a user licence basis usually, therefore the
NetConnect 3 key allows you to access the majority of Vapor software
legitimately. If you read any of the many "open-source" licences, the
majority only cover your rights to see the source and use it - most of them
do not allow you to *own* the actual source.

I would like a replacement uber-CD that would be redundant in 3 months too,
but I can just as easily use my CDRW to make a backup of my existing one
with the up-dates... (maybe an idea for Chris? But it does require a great
deal of time and effort to produce large numbers - I remember when you
provided the up-dates for NC2, and the large amount of effort you had to
invest, reducing your ability to do tech. support.).

Most of the attacking posts I have seen on this mailing list have been
started by irate customers. Certainly, the customer has many rights, but
Chris is only human, with human tolerance levels.
All the best, I hope you have better luck,
