The solution to this brawl is very simple:

1 Chris supplies sales figures to Thomas.
2 Thomas calculates the royalty due to those sales, based on the originally
  agreed rate.
3 Chris pays Thomas that amount minus any amount already paid, while
 simultaneously Thomas supplies a bug-fixed appp.device to Chris.
4 We download the new appp.device.
5 Thomas buys pizza (or optionally, bratwurst and apfelstrudel).
6 Chris buys beer. (Preferably something decent, like Steinlager)
7 Chris and Thomas shake hands and have a party. Get some dancing
  girls in too.

There now, wasn't that simple?

I'm off to Liberia next week to fix that one, and then Iraq.
Oh hell, I suppose I'd better pop in on Ethiopia and Eritrea sometime
too.

<sigh>
