You don't need the space. All init commands can follow immediately after each other.
For info my standard init string, for the magicexpress 56k modem, is AT&F&D2W2M0\r.
The W2 reports the actual connection speed to Genesis upon connection. I usually get
42667 altho I have had 44000 at times.
