Subject: modem for dos

Hi Tony,

TP>Which makes and models of v90 modems will work in dos? I asked my local
TP>computer shop and they tell me that there is no modems that will work in
  TP>dos without windows.

That's typical of the ignorance of most sales people.

Admittedly it's becoming pretty hard to find *internal* modems
that are *proper* modems, but *any* modem that connects to a
serial port with a cable is a proper modem and will work
with *any* operating system.

I can't give you any specific models of internal modems that
aren't "winmodems" but the documentation will (should) always
say what its software requirements are. If it says you must
have windoze then it isn't a proper modem.

Good luck.

Mike
