Bonnie:

In this instance, it's not the size of the message file that's
the key issue; it's the size of the index file. When the index file
gets beyond a certain size, Net-Tamer simply can't handle it. Error
14 is an "out of string space" error. String space is maintained in
memory. If the contents of the index file are filling up memory,
string space will be corrupted and therefore lost. Note that the size
of a message has nothing to do with its associated entry in the index
file. Whether a message is big or small, the reference information in
the index file is maintained in data fields of a specific length. If
the information for a particular field does not fill up the field,
the extra room in the field is padded with spaces or nulls (I'm not
sure which). Each message added to a message file results in the
addition of data fields to the index file of a size that has no
relationship to the size of the actual message. Thus, what matters
here is the number of messages indexed in your associated .IEU file,
not how big those messages may be as they exist in your .DLU file.

Again, I've never seen Net-Tamer index more than 3,000 messages.
If you can get it to do more, I'd be surprised.
