      Here is what NETTAMER.DOC has on this issue:

Your computer does not have enough free memory to sort all the 
messages you are trying to read.  That is okay.  Press F5 to get back 
to the messages.  The program will start indexing again, from where 
it left off.  There will be no sort of the first however many 
messages, however.

     F5 is NOT meant to avoid losing messages or the ability to read 
ALL messages in a large .DLU file; it's there to keep the software 
from crashing or to ensure that you can read at least SOME of the 
messages in the associated .DLU file. If you don't have enough memory 
to index and then read 4,500 messages, you don't have enough memory. 
It's that simple.
