Just in case you are using graphics with Net-Tamer, turn them off. My
suggestions are based on using the sites _without_ graphics enabled.
Also, my opinion is that graphics are not very useful in Net-Tamer and
just slow things down.
Forget using www.google.com directly. I've just tried it and the
"submit" buttons don't work even though you can enter text into the
search field. Instead of searching it comes back with a 404 error for
URL not found when the "submit" button is "clicked" by using the ENTER
key. _However_ you can use the same Google search engine by going to
www.yahoo.com. When you get the main Yahoo! page, you just use the
arrow key or tab key to get to "<l>" on your screen in Net-Tamer.
_Then_ you press your ENTER key and you will be able to type in search
terms _limited_ by the space on the screen (Net-Tamer won't expand the
field). After you've entered the terms, just press ENTER again and
you'll be at "<m>" on your screen. Press ENTER one more time to submit
the search. Yahoo will use Google to do your search.
Raging.com is okay. When you get their main page, you arrow or tab to
"<c>" and then hit ENTER to open the text field. Enter your search
terms and then hit ENTER again to get to "<d>" for the submit button.
Hit ENTER one more time and raging.com will do the search.
Your other question is whether Net-Tamer tells you which field is a text
field or a button? The answer is that it doesn't say anything about the
field until the field is highlighted. Then something will appear in the
bottom line on the screen that will indicate what the field is for.
Remember that a text field won't expand in Net-Tamer as it will with
Windows browsers or Arachne or even Lynx. In Net-Tamer a text field may
displayed only one character wide or it may be thirty. If it's just one
character wide in Net-Tamer it probably won't work. A submit button may
or may not work in Net-Tamer, as I mentioned above.
Good luck.
