Did you try to change this character with the "Alt 255" character?

I had tried the Alt-255 character myself and that didn't work. It
caused Net-Tamer to use the letter "N" as the quote. However, I just
now tried the " " (space) simply by pressing the space bar and Net-Tamer
accepted that. As you can see, it worked with this message. Another
suggestion that was posted, using Alt-F to forward a message, is better.
Forwarding doesn't insert quote characters. It's not that difficult to
edit a forwarded message after the fact to add your own comments.
