Did it ever occur to any of you folks that it might be illegal
for an ISP to rig their connection protocols according to a
psuedo-standard that will work only with Micro$oft products?
Such a system would tend to be unfair and anti-competitive and
therefore in violation with the anti-monopoly laws.  This is
tantamount to AT&T refusing to provide telephone service to
people who don't use their patented brand of telephone.  They
can't do that anymore.  The courts have already ruled on this.
