It should certainly sort its own DLU files, unless there
is something corrupted in the file format that confuses
the sorting algorithm. As you probably already know, the
DLU files are just concatenated message files. The sorting
algorithm has to look for certain markers indicating where
one message ends and another message starts. If the DLU file
has become corrupted in certain ways it can't be sorted. You
can repair your DLU files by manually editing them with a text
editor. You will probably find an area where the continuity
and the pattern of the formatting has been broken. If you
don't have time to do this editing work right now, then you can
simply rename your DLU file and save the editing job for later.
The new MYCMAIL.DLU file should sort correctly, but the renamed
one will not sort until you fix it.

If you should ever want to do "usernet things" it might be helpful
for you to know that the usenet DLU files work the same way as the
ones for email. They are just concatenated message files. Doing
"usernet things" with Nettamer is just as easy as doing email, but
it is much more of a hassle to initially set up. After it is set
up it works just as easy as email. I use Nettamer for almost all
of my usenet work. I find that Nettamer works much better for me
than PC-PINE for DOS. Both programs are non-graphical and both
programs use concatenated message files.
