Dear friends,
FOSSCOMM was born in Bangalore in February when many of us met to
discuss how to build a wider network of organizations desirous of
promoting the adoption of FOSS in India. In July, some of us met in
Delhi to take FOSSCOMM forward. The wiki and the FOSSCOMM site have been
places for virtual collaborations apart from this very active mailing list.
In the Delhi meeting, the idea of meeting next at Mumbai was suggested.
It would be good to have 'physical' meetings regulary, say once a
quarter, so that more intense discussions and debates can take the idea
and presence of FOSSCOMM further.
I am requesting our Mumbai friends, Nagarjuna, Venky and others to
consider holding a FOSSCOMM meeting sometime over the next month or so.
On the lines of Bangalore and Delhi, forming a 'local organizing group'
would help start the process.
regards
Guru
