If you are on a good net connection and have a bit of time and patience it is mostly the matter of going through System>Administration>Update Manager First do check updates Then install updates Then distribution upgrade button that should appear (Presumption: You will need admin rights (you own th laptop so you should either be admin user or have the rights) I found most of the problem hardware working very nicely out of the box in 9.10 Mind you mostly. Fingerprint scanner does not work - actually never tried it recently. I'd take up your offer of coming to your office and getting paid for it but am in Delhi and do not think it'd be cost effective or interesting. That said if you were able to install driver once you should be able to do ot again although mostly Ubuntu will also let you download and install "bad" drivers using System>Adminstration>Hardware Drivers menu. (Bad vis FLOSS like Nvidia, Broadcomm etc.) -- Regards, Sudev Barar Read http://blog.sudev.in for topics ranging from here to there.
