I am not too sure but I guess Pentium III 500 and above and celeron 500 (or
higher) and above are using a different core architecture in the CPU. You
can see it from the KDE properties page.
I have both the older version (99 edition) and the latest (2000 edition)
which has very slight different on their design. Both work on my box when
using PII-350 and now I am using PIII-600E with everything the same except
change the CPU, and the SBLive failed to work.
My box is dual boot with win98se, and the same thing happened, and I ended
up with downloading the so-called "latest" driver from CL website and patch
it to work, however, still no luck in Linux.
This is not conclusive but I have done whatever I can and the card is still
mute and error loading the module are shown during bootup and shutdown.
If it work with 7.0 it should work with 7.1. For you, I don't think that's
any problem here.
